What is Hyaluronic Acid?

 
You may have heard of hyaluronic acid, but what is it exactly? 

Hyaluronic acid occurs naturally in the body. It’s located in the spaces between cells where it can absorb large volumes of water to help maintain hydration. One area of the body that has a significant amount of hyaluronic acid is the skin. The hyaluronic acid can also contain other molecules that are important to the health of your skin, like vitamins C and E, which remove free radicals, fight UV damage and diminish imperfections in the skin. This makes hyaluronic acid the perfect multi-faceted anti-aging tool.

 What is HylaFusion® and what makes it so effective?

Dry skin not only loses its luster and hydration but also its ability to absorb needed nutrients. HylaFusion® is composed of three forms of hyaluronic acid (also known as hyaluronan) in proprietary ratios of small and large hyaluronan molecules and highly hydrated HylaSponges®.  Larger molecules remain on the surface of the skin and in the stratum corneum hydrating for up to 8 hours after application, even when the skin feels dry to the touch, and reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
